Sandman and the Endless...

These are two of my favorite characters from the Sandman comic, Death and her youngest sibling, Delirium. Delirium used to be Delight until she noticed the world around her was changing and in turn she "grew up" and changed as well. Her realm is close to the living worlds realm but those who visit it when returning are only able to relay just the smallest fragment of what they saw there. It is not for mortal minds to see and understand. Death is well, Death. She is the one you get to see twice in your life, once when you are born and once when you die. She is not cruel or mean-spirited, she just "IS". It is her job. Once every hundred years she gets to spend a day as a mortal to be reminded how important her job is and to understand the value of life. She is inquisitive and caring. Not at all how others have portrayed "death" in the past. The others in the Endless include, Dream (the Sandman), Destruction, Desire, Despair and Destiny.
